HIV Prevention and Services
HIV can have devastating physical and mental health impact on the life of an individual.
HIV is a virus that damages your immune system, making it easier for you to get sick. HIV is spread through contact with semen, vaginal fluids, and blood — usually during unprotected sex. HIV can affect anybody. About 1 million people in the U.S. are living with HIV, and more than 41,000 new infections happen every year.
You can’t tell if you have HIV just by the way you feel, because most people who get HIV don’t have any symptoms for years. The only way to know for sure if you have HIV is to get tested.
Luckily, HIV testing is pretty easy and painless. And if you DO have HIV, it’s best to find out right away so you can take medication to help you stay healthy and lower your chances of spreading HIV to others.
Community Rehabilitation Center offers testing and counseling, as well as education to the community on HIV prevention. We also offer support groups and therapeutic intervention.
