JOB TITLE: Mental Health Professional

REPORTS TO: Clinical Supervisor

EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Non- Exempt

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in a related– Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Sociology, Human Services, Rehabilitation Counseling, Marriage & Family Therapy, Behavioral Health, Behavioral Sciences, or Nursing or an unrelated field.

Essential Functions: Ability to report to work on time, follow directions from the immediate supervisor or Clinical Director. Interact effectively with co-workers and to treat others with dignity and respect. Will be able to understand and follow posted work rules and procedures, and be able to accept constructive criticism. Responsibilities:

  • Educate consumers on how to complete job application preparation for employment interviews, and employment retention

  • Communicate with confidentiality of records relating to clients’ treatment

  • Maintain confidentiality of records relating to clients’ treatment.

  • Encourage clients to express their feelings, discuss what is happening in their lives, and help them to develop insight into themselves and their relationships

  • Guide clients in the development of skills and strategies for dealing with their problems

  • Prepare and maintain all required treatment records and reports

  • Counsel clients and patients, individually and in group sessions, to assist in overcoming dependencies, adjusting to life, and making changes

  • Collect information about clients through interview, observations, and tests

  • Act as the client’s advocate in order to coordinate required services or to resolve emergency problems in crisis situations

  • Collaborate with other staff members to perform clinical assessments and develop treatment plans.

  • Act as a floater for the clinical department.

  • Must be flexible and open to change.

  • Performs other related duties, as required.

  • Assess client’s physical or mental condition based on review of client information

  • Conduct job readiness trainings with staff and clients throughout the year.
